As well as these resolutions, there is 1920x1080 at 75Hz too, but this is really a widescreen format resolution so you get the "John Wayne" effect of everyone having tall faces! The most comfortable I find is 1152x864. 800x600, 60Hz and 75Hz 848x480, 60Hz 1024x768, 75Hz 1152x864, 70Hz and 75Hz 1280x1024, 70Hz 1600x1200, 60Hz In fact I can even get it to work at 50Hz (yuck!) since my video card can do this too, but it is quite horrible to view. My card is a ATI Rage Fury 32MB TV-Out. The only problem is that any bootup messages in VGA mode are invisible, and there seems to be no solution to this other than using a different monitor for VGA. I modified someone else's program so that I can press a few buttons on the keyboard and revert to a known working resolution even if working blind due to a Windows program having switched to VGA mode, which helps.
